The Mixers announce Edinburgh show

Kenneth B Woode and his mighty and mobhanded Mixers are heading to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time in 2017, with a brand new show - Amazing Stories of Blues and Soul.

The hour-long show tells the sensational story of soul – from the pounding R'n'B of the 1940s to the smouldering sounds of Stax. Featuring the full rollicking, seven-piece band and a dynamic, all-action stage show, this laughter-laced road trip will take you on a quest to find the roots of soul music, and recreate the original spirit of the legendary singers and foot-stomping soul classics that soundtracked a generation. This fast-paced show combines anecdotes, humour and the songs of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, James Brown and many more…

It runs every day at 16.10 from the 14 to 19 August, at Space Triplex studio (The Prince Phillip Building, EH8 9DP) Tickets are on sale at a nugatory and piffling £8 (£6 concessions) from 2 March - watch this space for details.
