FRANKLYN J PEEL

Guitar

7ft7, 7st7 of maniacal, gangling guitar assault, Franklyn is the closest the mixers ever came to a bona fide, borderline-crazy genius.   Sadly, the lure of well-heeled respectability as a serious research geologist proved too tempting - but he'll always be remembered for finding  the lost note in Wiesbaden

HAGAR

Founder Mixer Hagar was not only a solid and stalwart bassman -with his eccentric technical skills, he created, Frankenstein-like, the Mixers' Heath-Robinson early sound systems.  Also featured on occasional banjo, and almost suffocated the entire band with a bizarre footrot disease on an early Germany tour

HOSS THE BOSS

Fiddle, trumpet

A hot-dang hoss-whippin' good fiddle player - Irish, swing, blues and bluegrass - Hoss also contributed to the band a remarkable bucket of tat, including an outsize cowboy hat, a set of  devil horns and a  jester's outfit. Oh yeah.  And he played the trumpet as well.  Now to be found - pic below - playing jigs, reels and other fine Irish tunes in New York, still accompanied by Errol the hamster (seen here in blue).

SLIM PANATELLA

Vocal,,mandolin, harp, guitar

Celebrated songwriter, singer, harmonica player, guitarist, wit, raconteur, author and crap mandolin player.  One half of a double-punch frontman team with Ken, before leaving to work with dysfunctional rednecks in Georgia.  Now a successful children's author - hey!!!!  Check out his latest books (including the fab ribtickler Bogbrush the Barbarian) right here.

STIX RIVER

Mostly drums

Bass, harmonica, drums, keyboards, guitar, vocals and achingly sensitivesinger-songwriting - Stix truly was the ultimate Renaissance Mixer.  His legendary solo album 'Me and Norman' and his Stradivarius-like Stix guitars are proof that he was wasted behind the drums.  Check out the wonderful world of Stix Music for the finest custom-built guitars this side of the Pecos.

REX EVERYTHING

Trombone

One unforgettable third of the Fabulous Flatulations, the Mixers' cacophonous horn section.

Rex combines trombone virtuosity - at times being almost in tune - with eccentric techno wizardry and consummate showmanship, including his trademark juggling with three balled pairs of socks.  Still occasionally puts in a surprise guest appearance...
